ONE: “Defending Honor” is set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Nov. 11 and will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between defending champion Shinya Aoki and challenger Eduard Folayang. Featherweight champion Marat Gafurov will also be in action, defending his belt against Narantungalag Jadambaa.
Aoki (39-6-0-1) is riding a nine fight winning streak and will be making the third defense of his ONE lightweight title. Folayang (16-5) has been with the promotion since its inception and earned his shot with back to back decision wins against Tetsuya Yamada and Adrian Pang.
The co-main event will be a rematch of one of the promotion’s best ever title fights. Gafurov (14-0) submitted Jadambaa (12-4) in the fourth round the first time they fought but only after the Mongolian had looked on the verge of handing him a first ever career loss.
These won’t be the only significant lightweight and featherweight matches on offer. In the former division Eddie Ng (7-4) is set to face Adrian Pang (22-9-2) while in the latter Kotetsu Boku (24-11-2) will lock horns with Timofey Nastyukhin (10-2) in a potential “fight of the night” contender.
The other fights currently on the card see Amir Khan (5-2) set to face Samir Mrabet (5-0) in the lightweight division and multiple time jiu-jitsu champion Michelle Nicolini (2-1) going up against Mona Samir (1-2) in a strawweight match.
